Studio Illustration: J371K. This semester long upper division & graduate level Class, offered each spring since 1999, focuses on the many aspects of portraiture, both in the studio & on location. Students master the use of studio equipment, lighting, medium format cameras, digital imaging, posing, groups, high & low key styles and much more. They are exposed to Master Photographer Portfolios, improve their vision and develop a personal style. In addition, business topics are discussed in depth to add to a firm foundation for the real world experience. Each student crafts a portfolio that features his or her semester-long evolution.
For five years, Brenda led a weeklong, summer-intensive workshop exploring and expanding Studio Portraiture. Topics include: equipment use, lighting techniques, working subjects, making strong images, business aspects of photography and much more. Using local models of all ages, each person works to develop their personal style and portfolio. A fantastic & rewarding experience.
